Eulogy

Kim was my little cousin. She had an inner beauty that was not given a chance to show itself.

Only now can we see it.

She was not only pretty, but had a smile to light a thousand broken hearts, and intense blue eyes to make them flutter.

Her pleasant attitude was enough to make most people feel relaxed even when in a crowded room full of depressed people.

Her persona shone like a beacon in a dark world.

She was shy and withdrawn, yet managed to make people around her feel less so and more able to relate to each other.

She was the only person I have known able to do this.

Kim was short in height and young in years, yet was a tower of personality.

We will forever remember her smile, that gorgeous, winning, broad smile that had a brilliance all of its own.

Most of you, including myself, did not know her well, but to paraphrase Rod Serling,

“In the long view of history, it is not whether people remember our names when we die, but whether we touched the lives of others”.

Kim, I salute you. Rest in peace, my cousin.
