Eulogy

Kim was my little cousin. She had an inner beauty that was not given a chance to show itself.

Only now can we see it.

She was not only pretty, but had a smile to light a thousand broken hearts, and intense blue eyes to make them flutter.

Her pleasant attitude was enough to make most people feel relaxed even when in a crowded room full of depressed people.

Her persona shone like a beacon in a dark world.

She was shy and withdrawn, yet managed to make people around her feel less so and more able to relate to each other.

She was the only person I have known able to do this.

Kim was short in height and young in years, yet was a tower of personality.

We will forever remember her smile, that gorgeous, winning, broad smile that had a brilliance all of its own.

Most of you, including myself, did not know her well, but to paraphrase Rod Serling,

“In the long view of history, it is not whether people remember our names when we die, but whether we touched the lives of others”.

Kim, I salute you. Rest in peace, my cousin.

Angel Evermore

ANGEL EVERMORE
By
Wyman C. Stewart

Angel Evermore, she will be;
This lovely young lady, I’ve begun to see.
Blue eyes, winning smile, love-filled heart;
These are, but a few, of her qualities.
Silent pictures, speak of thee.
Moments, in time, bittersweet.
She, above all else, a lady;
Upon her, Cross of Torture, declared:
“This is not a life.”
“There’s no point in going on.”
“I’ve got to go.”
“I love you all.”
At journey’s end;
She earned, angel wings.
Though I sit here and weep, a thousand years;
Few, I would see, with such courage of conviction;
Who, might bear for a day, the Cross;
Borne, by this 14 year old, angelic being,
Then declare, “I love you all.”
How Christ-like, her words;
How forgiving, her words.
Yet, even before that,
“Sorry”, she said,
As though, she needed forgiveness;
As if torture, should be borne.
How Christ-like, her last moments, on Earth.
So, God called Her, to His Heavenly home.
She is God’s, angel, evermore.
Thank you, my child, for teaching me.
Though we never met; never spoke;
I know, your, Heavenly name:
Angel Evermore.
AMEN.

Two Flowers

This is Kim, my cousin.

She sadly passed away at the age of fourteen.

There are two flowers in this photo.

But only one with a smile.

But both smelling of roses.

Sleeping With God

Her serenity here is quite obvious.

Such an elegant repose.

Such a beautiful face.

Such innocence.

Such inner beauty, you can almost feel it.

Going to school

Never more innocent as here.

Just a schoolgirl.

So much ahead of her.

She loved music and would often dance to her music machine.

A typical, normal Japanese girl, but so special in our hearts.

And that is what counts.

A "workout"?

So full of fun.

Trying to do some pushups and failing miserably.

More of a smile than a grimace.

She loved to smile and laugh.

Her laugh was very infectious with such a broad smile.

Great Figure

Even though only fourteen, she had a great figure many sixteen-year-olds would have envied.

Despite that, she never had a boyfriend.

She would have broken his heart.

However, her smile never seemed to cease.
